Gentlemen’s Order: Grooming Essentials

There’s a slight difference between a man and a gentleman, a man is strong, wise and brave, but a gentleman possesses that added extra of being well turned out. We’ve seen a roster of men’s grooming companies emerge in the last few years, concentrating on everything from beard oils to bow ties, but Gentlemen’s Order happens to be the first of its kind to offer a selection of carefully procured grooming products, boxed and ready-to-use, for both fans of the beard and the clean shaven look.

Gentlemen’s Order, created by two entrepreneurs – Kieran and Michael, is on the cusp of going from vision to reality. With its decidedly classic feel, with branding that wouldn’t look out of place in ITV’s ‘Mr Selfridge’, Kieran and Michael have already placed Gentlemen’s Order among the more finer companies out there. The quality of their aesthetic is not the only thing going in their favour, but the level of quality included in the products they procure too. Striking up a relationship with a variety of brands, including The Dapper Duke (one of my personal favourites that forms part of their beard range) who deal in beard oils, beard wash etc, they are a particularly fine match for Gents Order.

Gentleman's Order

Speaking to Kieran and Michael over the phone, they said “We’ve forged a good working relationship with the guys at Dapper Duke, they’re a very trust worthy brand, with all their products handmade and using natural ingredients, they’ve also got a loyal customer base and a brilliant following on social media.”

A running theme of each and every one of Gentlemen’s Order’ products is that they all focus on being natural and handmade, “We’ve sampled a lot of products across the market over the past few months” Michael says “we’ve finally announced all of the products that we’ll be including, as well as the Dapper Duke products, we’ve secured these superb German engineered razors, which again have a real focus on fine craftsmanship. Our relationship with The Shave Doctor is something we’re particularly proud of. We approached them for a number of reasons, but mainly because their products are only stocked exclusively in this country in barber shops. They’ve gained a great reputation in the shaving market, yet they are still very affordable. We have a great working relationship with their director Mark, who has a lot of knowledge and experience in the industry.”

Operating as a subscription service, which removes the hassle of men having to restock at the end of every month, Kieran and Michael’s idea is to create a service fit for the modern gent, which is both trust worthy and has a high-end feel to it. “A factor about modern society” says Kieran “is that men are paying more attention to their appearance, and they’re looking for something that’s affordable but has attention paid to it. Affordability is something key we’d like to focus on. Sourcing good grooming products every month can be quite expensive, and it’s often hard to find the right products to suit you, so with us guys don’t have to worry.”

As soon as the website launches later this month, Kieran and Michael will set further plans in motion, with Kieran sorting out red letter day packages, such as the opportunity for customers to get a shave at a high-end cut throat barbers, “We want customer involvement in the company to play a big role” he says “we’ll be including a mini men’s lifestyle blog on the site, and we also have promotional offers such our first 100 customers receiving an Egyptian cotton hand towel with our logo embroidered on, the towels in fact may become a permanent feature. As time goes by we’ll be increasing our product range, and giving the option for customers to create their own box.”

“As we sort out a few last minute bits and pieces for the website, we’re feeling confident that we’ve come up with the perfect formulas for both shave and beard, catering perfectly to each side. Our hope is that we will become a mainstay for guys grooming.”

Kieran and Michael have been astute in their procuring of the most exceptional products, which as a man who appreciates the handmade and natural aspects of grooming, will most certainly go down well. Gentlemen’s Order is likely to reach some pretty amazing heights in the next year.
